Overview
Help for the Meikai connector for Google Looker Studio. Setup steps, the datasets and how your data is handled are on Meikai for Looker Studio.
1.Contact
Write to support@meikai.ai. To get a useful answer on the first reply, include:
- The brand and the dataset of the data source
- The exact error message, or a screenshot of the chart
- The chart's date range, dimensions and filters
- The name of the reporting key you used, never the key itself

2.Error messages
This Meikai reporting key is invalid, expired, revoked, or no longer authorized.
Create a new key for the same brand in Meikai (Profile, then API keys, key type Looker Studio reporting), then edit the data source connection and reconnect. If the brand is missing from the list, you no longer have Brand Monitor access to it: ask a brand owner in your team.
The Meikai brand for this reporting key is no longer active.
The brand or account was deactivated in Meikai. Contact your Meikai account team.
Reconnect this data source with a reporting key for its Meikai brand.
The stored key was removed, usually by Revoke access. Reconnect the data source with a key for its brand.
The reporting key belongs to a different brand.
Each data source is pinned to one brand. Reconnect with a key for that brand, or create a new data source for the other brand.
Meikai cannot calculate this report.
Keep the date range within 366 days and ending no later than tomorrow, and use supported filter conditions. With Include competitors on, add the Brand or competitor dimension, or filter to a single brand.
This report is too large to load completely.
A chart can load up to 100,000 rows. Shorten the date range, add a filter or remove a dimension.
Meikai is busy.
Wait a minute, then refresh. If it happens often, reduce the number of charts on the page.
Meikai could not be reached, or Meikai reporting is temporarily unavailable.
Refresh after a short wait. If it persists, write to us.
3.Limits
- A date range is required, covers at most 366 days and can end no later than tomorrow
- Up to 100,000 rows per chart
- Up to 60 requests per minute for all the data sources of one key owner
- Reporting keys last 90 days by default and at most 365 days
- Not available in the connector: referral-weighted visibility, sentiment, average position, and topic and prompt names (IDs only)
4.Questions we get
Can I compare with last month or last year?
Yes. On a scorecard or time series, turn on Comparison date range and choose Previous period or Previous year. A single chart's date range can cover up to 366 days.
Why do some numbers differ from the Meikai dashboard?
The connector reports every AI platform observed in the selected dates, while some dashboard cards leave out platforms whose collection is incomplete. Classic visibility in Looker Studio is unweighted, unlike Meikai's referral-weighted visibility, and the dashboard's rolling comparison windows are not reproduced.
Which filters are supported?
Equal to, In, Contains (text and URL fields) and Is null, plus their negations. Regular expressions, Between and numeric comparisons are not supported: the chart shows an error instead of an approximate figure. Filters are applied by Meikai before each chart is calculated.
Should I change the aggregation of a metric?
No. Leave aggregation on Auto. Meikai calculates each chart at its exact grouping; summing or averaging ratios and distinct counts would give wrong figures.
Can I report on several brands?
Yes, with one data source per brand, each connected with that brand's reporting key.
Who can see my report?
Anyone you share the report with, even without a Meikai account: Looker Studio reads the data with the data source owner's credentials. Share reports accordingly.
How do I stop a report from reading Meikai data?
Revoke its key in Meikai (Profile, then API keys). Charts stop loading on their next refresh. Revoke access on the connector in Looker Studio also removes every Meikai key stored for your Google account.
