About Meikai
Meikai means clarity, and that is exactly what we bring to the new AI economy.
AI is transforming everything: code is becoming cheaper, faster and easier to reproduce. The real differentiator now lies in execution and client relationships.
We are building the AI visibility platform for brands, helping companies understand and optimise how they appear inside large language models like ChatGPT and Gemini. We partner with leading global brands across Luxury, Beauty, CPG, Auto, Retail, Tech and Finance, including several LVMH Maisons, helping them navigate the most important shift in digital visibility since SEO began.
We are a lean, AI-first team of Hungry, Humble and High-Potential (3H) people, working with transparency, velocity and trust. Our ambition is to set the standard for how brands measure and optimise their presence in AI.
Why this role exists now
Three things make Asia-Pacific the next frontier for Meikai, and they define this job.
First, Asia is ahead. ChatGPT Ads went live in Japan and Korea months before Europe, so brands in the region already have a paid lever inside AI answers and need to know where to pull it. Our Ad Planner is connected by API to OpenAI's Ads Manager, and it was built for exactly that question.
Second, Asia is not one AI market. Consumers use ChatGPT and Gemini, but also Naver AI Tab in Korea, Doubao, Qwen and Wenxin in China, and the assistants built into the super-apps they already live in. Meikai already tracks regional engines alongside the global ones, which gives global brands a single view of a fragmented landscape. Very few platforms can offer that.
Third, the demand is already here. Luxury and beauty houses we work with in Europe are opening the conversation for their Japanese, Korean and Chinese markets, and our local partner network has built real momentum in the region. What we need now is someone on the ground, full time, to turn that momentum into a business.
The role
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will be Meikai's first dedicated leader in Asia-Pacific: you will open the market, sell yourself, build the first team and set the playbook the region runs on. It spans four fronts.
- Launch the hub. Recommend Singapore or Hong Kong with a clear commercial case, then build Meikai's presence there: the first clients, the first partners, the first hires and the rhythm that connects Asia to Paris and London. We start light, with Deel as our employer of record, so your energy goes into the market, not the admin.
- Brands first, at regional HQ and in local markets. Sell our platform to the APAC headquarters of global brands based in Singapore and Hong Kong, and to their local teams in Japan, Korea, Greater China, Southeast Asia and Australia. Luxury, Beauty, Retail, Travel and Finance are the natural starting points.
- Work hand in hand with global HQ. Many decisions for Asian markets are taken in Paris, London or New York. Work with our European sales team so a brand hears one coherent story from HQ to local market, and help HQ deals roll out across the region.
- Agencies, publishers and partners. Activate the holding groups and independent agencies that run brand budgets in the region, the publishers that AI answers cite, and the resellers and ad tech partners that multiply our reach. Build on the partner network already in place rather than around it.
Who you'll work with
You will work directly with the founders, alongside our sales team in Europe, our Head of Customer Success and our APAC partner network. We expect you to bring the region back inside the company: which engines matter where, what local teams will pay for, and what the product needs to win in Asia.
Key responsibilities
Launch and run the APAC hub
- Build the commercial case for Singapore or Hong Kong and recommend the location within your first weeks: where the clients, the agencies and the talent are
- Establish Meikai's presence on the ground: the first client references, the first partner agreements and the first hires, with the founders
- Define how the region works with Paris and London: account ownership, pricing, reporting and the handover to Customer Success
Build and close a regional pipeline
- Own a regional revenue target, expressed in Enterprise licences or their equivalent in monthly recurring revenue, with quarterly milestones agreed with the CEO
- Map, prioritise and open the accounts that matter: regional HQs of global brands first, then the strongest local groups in each market
- Run the full cycle: first conversation, use case, pilot, commercial proposal, contract, handover to Customer Success
- Keep a clean, honest pipeline in our CRM and report on it weekly with the rest of the sales team
Go to market, market by market
- Build a clear plan for Japan, Korea, Greater China, Southeast Asia and Australia, with the right sequencing, the right engines and the right partners for each
- Adapt our positioning, content and methodology to local languages, local AI engines and local buying habits, with Product and the CTO
- Lead on ChatGPT Ads and the regional ad platforms as they open, using our Ad Planner as the entry point with performance and media teams
Agencies, publishers and partners
- Activate the regional holding groups and independent agencies as multipliers, following the model that already works for us in Europe with OMD and Havas
- Bring our earned media and citation intelligence to the regional publishers that AI answers rely on, and turn it into licence revenue
- Work with our existing APAC partners and add the resellers and ad tech players that matter, with clear commercial terms and a joint go-to-market
Build the team and the brand
- Hire and lead the first APAC team once the pipeline justifies it: sales, customer success and partnerships
- Represent Meikai where the region gathers (Spikes Asia, Advertising Week Asia, Cannes Lions, luxury and retail forums) and create our own moments
- Build Meikai's reputation in the region, with our founders, as the reference voice on GEO and GEA in Asia
How the role grows
We grow roles on milestones, not on a calendar. This starts as a player-coach role: you open the market, you sell, and you build the first playbook yourself.
As soon as the region produces repeatable revenue, whether that is at month nine or month eighteen, we open the roles to scale it, and you lead that team. We will not promise headcount on a fixed date, and we will not leave you alone once it works.
Who you are
- 12+ years in enterprise sales, partnerships or regional leadership in SaaS, martech, ad tech or media, with a significant part of it in Asia-Pacific
- A track record of opening or scaling a regional business from scratch, ideally for a European or US company entering Asia
- A real network with the APAC headquarters and local marketing, digital and media teams of global brands, and with the agencies and publishers around them
- You understand how buying decisions work between global HQ and Asian markets, and how to get both sides to say yes
- You have carried a regional number, hit it, and can walk us through how
- You are comfortable building with founders rather than inheriting a finished machine, and you like markets that are not fully defined yet
- You already use AI daily in your work, and you are frustrated it is not more
- Fluent in English. Japanese, Korean or Mandarin is a strong plus, and French is a bonus
Key traits
- Commercial first: every hire, every partnership and every trip is accountable to revenue
- A builder: as comfortable opening a market from zero as closing a regional deal
- Culturally agile: you adapt the story to each market without losing the thread
- Comfortable engaging CMOs, regional presidents, agency leaders, publishers and engineers alike
- Deeply curious about AI search, LLMs and the future of brand visibility
- An entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and zero ego
Why join us
- Open Meikai's first office outside Europe and build a region from the ground up
- Help define a new category, AI visibility for brands, in the region where AI adoption and AI advertising are moving fastest
- Work directly with the founders, with real ownership of strategy, hiring and results
- Join right after our seed round, as we launch our Series A and accelerate
- A compensation structure that rewards what you build and close, with meaningful equity
