About Meikai
Meikai means clarity, and that is exactly what we bring to the new AI economy.
AI is transforming everything: code is becoming cheaper, faster and easier to reproduce. The real differentiator now lies in execution and client relationships.
We are building the AI visibility platform for brands, helping companies understand and optimise how they appear inside large language models like ChatGPT and Gemini. We partner with leading global brands across Luxury, Beauty, CPG, Auto, Retail, Tech and Finance, including several LVMH Maisons, helping them navigate the most important shift in digital visibility since SEO began.
We are a lean, AI-first team of Hungry, Humble and High-Potential (3H) people, working with transparency, velocity and trust. Our ambition is to set the standard for how brands measure and optimise their presence in AI.
The role
This is not a classic marketing role, and it will not suit someone looking to run a classic marketing department. It was shaped for an experienced B2B marketing and communications leader from martech or ad tech who has already built a brand and a pipeline engine in a fast-moving category, and who wants to do it again at the very start of a new one.
At Meikai, we either build or sell. This role sits where the two meet, and it spans three dimensions.
- Marketing. Make Meikai visible on every channel that matters: press, events, social, partners, and AI answers themselves. Branding, PR and an AI-powered marketing engine first, with product marketing and field marketing close behind.
- Thought leadership. Educate the market at the highest level. Take complex GEO and GEA topics and make them simple, memorable and impossible to ignore for CMOs, CDOs, agencies and boards.
- Market and client insight. Bring what you have learned selling technology to brands and agencies into how Meikai packages, positions and delivers value. Be one of the voices of the market inside the company, alongside Sales and Customer Success.
Who you'll work with
You will work directly with the founders to shape a brand new industry: GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and GEA (Generative Engine Advertising). You will start as a player-coach: producing yourself, building the systems, then growing the function.
Key responsibilities
Branding, PR and communications
- Build and protect the Meikai brand: voice, narrative and visual identity across every touchpoint
- Drive press relations and earn coverage in tier-1 business, tech and marketing media in the UK, France and the US
- Turn our proprietary data and research partnerships, such as our Bain & Company x Comité Colbert report, into thought leadership that shapes the GEO conversation
- Own our presence at major industry moments (Cannes Lions, VivaTech, DMEXCO and tier-1 conferences) and create our own
- Build the founders' public profile, and your own, as reference voices of GEO and GEA
Demand generation and the AI marketing engine
- Build the demand engine: content, campaigns, partner marketing and nurture programmes that turn awareness into qualified pipeline, measured against revenue
- Run marketing the AI-native way: agentic workflows, automated content production, AI-assisted PR and campaign systems. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be the kind of marketer who has already replaced half of a team's manual work with AI tools and wants to go further
- Do the work of a full marketing team with a lean stack, then prove it with numbers
- Practise what we preach: make Meikai itself the best case study of visibility in AI answers
Product marketing
- Own positioning, messaging and launch execution for a fast release cadence (we ship market firsts regularly)
- Build sales enablement that turns product capabilities into commercial wins: decks, battlecards, case studies and playbooks
- Track the competitive landscape and sharpen our differentiation against pure players and legacy SEO platforms
Field marketing and market education
- Design and run executive events, roundtables, dinners and workshops across Europe, APAC and the US
- Educate the market: masterclasses, keynotes and content that make Meikai the obvious teacher of this new discipline
- Partner with Sales to build pipeline: every event, every asset and every campaign is accountable to revenue
Market and client insight
- Bring first-hand understanding of how brands and agencies buy marketing technology into how Meikai positions and packages its offer
- Be one of the voices of the market inside Meikai, alongside Sales and Customer Success
- Support flagship client and partner conversations where your perspective lifts them from tooling to boardroom strategy
The path to CMO
We believe this role grows into the CMO seat within two to three years, and not a CMO as the industry knows it today.
The CMO of an AI-native company will look nothing like the CMO of the last decade: someone who reinvents workflows rather than inherits them, who orchestrates AI agents and tools to multiply their own output, and who runs marketing, market insight and market education as one integrated engine. We want the person in this role to define that model, first for Meikai, then for the industry.
On building a team: we grow the function on milestones, not on a calendar. You will start as a player-coach and build the engine yourself. As soon as that engine produces measurable results, whether that is at month twelve or month twenty, we open the roles to sustain it and protect your time for innovation and strategy. We will not promise headcount on a fixed date, and we will not leave you alone once it works.
Who you are
- 8 to 15 years in B2B marketing and communications, with a significant part of it in martech, ad tech or a related technology business selling to brands and agencies
- You have built a brand and a demand engine in a fast-moving category, ideally from an early stage, and you can show the pipeline and the coverage it produced
- Strong PR and communications instincts: you know how to land a story with a journalist and how to make a founder heard
- A natural storyteller who makes complex technology simple at the highest level of an organisation
- A real network across marketing, media, agencies and ad tech that opens doors a cold email never will
- You already use AI daily in your work, and you are frustrated it is not more
- Comfortable operating internationally and fluent in English. French is a strong plus, and other languages are welcome
Key traits
- Strategic and hands-on at the same time: you write the plan and the post
- Comfortable engaging CMOs, journalists, agency leaders, engineers and founders alike
- Deeply curious about AI search, LLMs and the future of brand visibility
- An entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and zero ego
Why join us
- Reinvent the marketing leadership role for the AI era, with full licence to experiment and a clear path to CMO
- Help define a new category: AI visibility for brands
- Work directly with the founders on a global expansion across Europe, APAC and the US
