Meikai publishes the Meikai AI Visibility Checker Chrome extension. Download it from the Chrome Web Store. For privacy questions, contact legal@meikai.ai. For product help, see extension support.
1.What the extension does
The Meikai AI Visibility Checker runs a local technical audit of the webpage you are viewing when you click the extension icon. It helps you see how AI crawlers and agents may access and understand that page.
2.Data the extension accesses
When you run an audit, the extension may read:
- The URL and HTML/DOM of the active tab (page content you already have open)
- Public files on the same site origin, such as /robots.txt, /llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, /llm.txt, and /AGENTS.md
- Optionally, a fetch of the page URL using an AI crawler User-Agent (only after you grant host access for that site)
3.What we collect and store
- Audit results may be cached in Chrome session storage on your device so re-opening the popup is faster. This cache is cleared when the browser session ends or the extension is updated or removed.
- The extension does not require an account for the audit.
- The MVP does not send page content to Meikai servers. CTAs may open Meikai websites (for example signup or Site Scanner) in a new tab; those pages follow Meikai’s website privacy policy.
4.Permissions
- activeTab / scripting — needed to analyze the page you choose to audit
- storage — local cache of the last audit for the tab
- declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess + optional host permission — only used if you enable the optional live GPTBot check for a site
We do not use these permissions to browse the web in the background or to scrape sites you did not open.
5.Sharing and selling
We do not sell your data. We do not use extension data for creditworthiness or unrelated advertising. Optional navigation to Meikai products is user-initiated.
6.Website and platform privacy
When you visit Meikai websites or use Meikai products outside the extension, processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
7.Changes
We may update this policy when the extension's capabilities change. Material changes will bump the "Last updated" date and the listing on the Chrome Web Store.
